Watermarking documents: policies and certifications

You can easily apply a watermark to all of your documents by toggling the watermark setting to “No Watermark” or “Apply Watermark”. After applying a watermark, all uploaded documents will contain a watermark for the downloaded document along with the date and time stamp.

NOTE: You cannot apply a watermark to any encrypted documents or publicly available documents, as the system does not know the email address of the users viewing the information.

Removing encryption

If you need to remove the document encryption, you need to have appropriate permissions to do so. If you don’t have those, you’ll need to locate the policy author or administrator of the secured PDF to make this happen. Then, follow these steps:

  1. Open the PDF in Acrobat Pro on Windows or Mac.
  2. Click on Tools.
  3. Click on Encrypt.
  4. Click on Remove Security.
  5. If the document has a Document Open password, click OK to remove it.
  6. If the document has a permissions password, type the correct password in the “Enter Password” box.
  7. Click OK.
  8. You have unlocked the PDF. Now, make sure to save the document so others can access it as well.
