Set up Paylocity for automated tests with TrustCloud!

Purpose

Once you set up your compliance program, TrustCloud TrustOps works to ensure that your systems remain compliant with your adopted controls. To do so, TrustCloud runs automated tests against systems in your product and business stack, and verifies that they are properly configured.

This document outlines the steps you can take to grant TrustCloud access to only read metadata about the configuration settings for your Paylocity account so that TrustOps can validate and generate evidence for your compliance program.

Paylocity maintains an Open API framework that allows you to integrate with the system via OAuth2. This requires you to get the ‘OAuth Client ID’ and ‘Client Secret’.

Instructions to grant TrustCloud limited access to Paylocity

  1. Paylocity requires you to file a Web Service Access Request form to gain access to your organization’s OAuth credentials.
  2. While filling out the form, please select ‘Request Type’ as Production and select the ‘Get Employee with Restricted Access’ under the ‘Open API Access’ section. Refer to the following screenshot for more information.

  3. After filling out the form, you need to have it signed by a Paylocity Authorized Contact and then email it to [email protected]. If all the details in the form are correct, the Paylocity team will respond back, sharing the OAuth Credentials.
  4. Copy the provided ‘Client ID’ and ‘Client Secret’ for future reference.
  5. Determine the Company ID that you use while logging in to your Paylocity account. You can also find it on the upper left hand corner of your Paylocity portal.
  6. Provide the Company ID, Client ID & Client Secret into TrustCloud to integrate with Paylocity.
