Groups

What Is it?

Groups are departments, business functions / units, or specialized teams in your company. In TrustOps, controls, systems, evidence and policies are categorized into groups to make it easy to delegate tasks to people in groups, and to measure the compliance risk and effectiveness across groups.

Groups in TrustOps

By default, there are 8 groups in a new TrustCloud – these are the typical key contributing groups towards the overall compliance posture of your company:

• Leadership
• Legal
• HR
• Sales and Marketing
• Security and Compliance
• Engineering
• DevOps
• IT

Each group includes Controls, Evidence, Systems, and Tasks, to help give you an idea of who owns what, and who is responsible for carrying out certain tasks.

What is a group card?

A good way to think about groups is thinking of a specific business function, business unit or specialized teams. The reason why we created this way is because we want our customers to easily delegate all of the tasks each group contains. Each group name can be changed if needed, by simply hovering over the group name and clicking on the pencil to edit the name.

How to create a new Group?

If you find you need more help and would like to invite a leader from a specific department that is currently not reflected in the 8 groups we initially have on TrustOps, you can create a new group by clicking on the ‘add group’ tab in the top right corner. See picture below:

Why are group owners important?

For each group we allowed you to add a group owner. This person is responsible to ensure these tasks are carried out and everything remains in good standing. Once you add a group owner, all of the tasks associated with that group will show up in the “My task” page in the menu bar. To learn more about task read this article.
